Dan Hay Honored with Diversity Award in Rio Grande do Sul

The award ceremony, held in Santa Cruz do Sul, honored 27 individuals and organizations advancing diversity, equity, and human rights in Rio Grande do Sul.

Reflecting on the recognition, Hay said:

“Tourism symbolizes freedom—the freedom to go, come, and be. Fifteen years ago, when LGBT tourism was rarely discussed, Festuris pioneered this space. Today, our Diversity Area is the largest of its kind at any tourism fair worldwide.”

The Diversity Highlight Award is presented annually to leaders and institutions that demonstrate measurable social impact and commitment to inclusion. Since 2010, NGO Desafios has worked to expand visibility and advocacy for LGBT+ rights throughout the state.
