Olivas de Gramado Promotes Olive Oil Festival with Immersive and Sensory Experiences

To celebrate the 2026 olive harvest, Olivas de Gramado hosts the 2nd Nostra Oliva Olive Oil Festival, introducing visitors to the world of extra virgin olive oil.

It is harvest season at Olivas de Gramado. To celebrate the 2026 olive harvest, the park — a pioneer in olive oil tourism in Brazil — is hosting the 2nd Nostra Oliva Olive Oil Festival, an event designed to bring visitors closer to the world of extra virgin olive oil. Featuring interactive and contemplative activities, the festival, which began on February 28, continues with special programming on March 14, 15, 21 and 22, with limited spots available at attractive prices.

During these days, visitors will experience unique moments and discover the “alchemy” behind olive oil production, from the manual harvesting of olives to the stages of the extraction process.

As a courtesy of the Olive Oil Festival, each participant will take home a 100 ml bottle of freshly extracted, unfiltered olive oil produced on the spot. This style of oil — also known as Novello — preserves higher concentrations of polyphenols, phytonutrients and natural antioxidants, which are associated with health benefits and the prevention of chronic diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, neurodegenerative and inflammatory disorders, as well as bone-related problems, among other comorbidities.

The festival program includes a Guided Sensory Olive Oil Tasting, led by a specialist sommelier who will present the history of olive trees, the characteristics of each olive variety, blend composition, health benefits, pairings with sweet and savory foods, as well as olfactory and gustatory characteristics, among other topics.

In the 360° Immersive Experience, the story of olive trees — from Greek mythology to modern times — is presented through a high-tech projection. The evolution of olive cultivation in Brazil is translated into images and information that provide visitors with knowledge and context.

The experience also includes a ride aboard the Olivas Express, offering scenic views of the Pedra Branca canyons surrounding the park, passing through the 29 hectares of olive groves where visitors will learn about the manual harvesting method used for the olives.

The gastronomy of Italian-German immigrants is another highlight of the festival. An exquisite Tuscan Picnic is served outdoors among the olive trees. The table features cheeses, wines, sparkling wines, seasonal fruits, homemade breads and traditional cakes, fruit spreads (schmiers), and the full line of Olivas de Gramado’s award-winning olive oils and aromatic infusions, as well as the first olive draft beer in Latin America.

The festival concludes at the Olivas Sunset, with exclusive access to a VIP area where electronic music DJs and a live saxophone performance animate the late afternoon, accompanied by a magical sunset that has become the park’s signature experience.

In addition to all the included attractions, festival guests will receive a custom Nostra Oliva Olive Oil Festival ecobag, containing a bottle of a new product from the Gramado-based company — Olivas Bier (olive beer) — a 100 ml bottle of unfiltered novello olive oil, and other gifts provided by event sponsors.

VALORIZING THE REGION AND ITALIAN IMMIGRANT ROOTS

With more than ten major international awards from some of the world’s most prestigious olive oil competitions, Olivas de Gramado created the Nostra Oliva Olive Oil Festival with clear goals.

“We want the local community and visitors to understand a little more about our work and to take part directly in this magical moment, which is the annual olive harvest and the extraction of our award-winning olive oil,” says André Bertolucci, olive specialist and master miller at Olivas de Gramado.

“Olive cultivation in Brazil has recently experienced a rebirth and, in a short time, has already become a global reference for premium quality. We produce olive oil in a masterful way, and it is essential that people have the opportunity to discover all the sensory attributes and properties that this noble product — made here in our land and with our own hands — can offer to those who appreciate the true ‘liquid gold’, a millennia-old food rich in history and health benefits,” Bertolucci emphasizes.

AWARDS AND QUALITY

Opened in 2018, Olivas de Gramado covers an area of more than 150 hectares, making it one of the largest olive tourism ventures in the world. Of this area, 29 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of six olive varieties: the Spanish Arbequina and Manzanilla, the Italian Picual, Frantoio and Ascolana, and the Greek Koroneiki.

Award-winning harvests and recognition in prestigious international competitions such as Flos Olei, NY International Olive Oil Competition (IOOC), EVOO IOOC Italy, Athena International Olive Oil Competition and Terra Olivo Israel reinforce the superior quality of the oils produced by Olivas de Gramado, placing the company among the best olive oil producers in the world.

In addition to producing award-winning extra virgin olive oils, the company also offers an artisanal line of flavored oils infused with spices and fruits, created with ingredients produced on the property and reflecting regional identity, as well as special collections developed by olive specialist André Bertolucci.
