The Hortênsia Project launches initiatives in schools to preserve the essence and strengthen Gramado’s identity

During the activity, students took part in a discussion about hospitality, environmental preservation, and the importance of the hydrangea as the symbolic flower

The Hortênsia Project began its activities in Gramado/RS schools this week, promoting a special initiative with fifth-grade students from CNEC School. The initiative aims to rescue the essence of the city through the planting of hydrangeas and educational actions that reinforce among young people a sense of belonging, preservation, and appreciation of local history.

The event included the participation of the project’s sponsor, Eliezer Lima, ambassador Beatriz Gehlen, Municipal Nursery coordinator Márcio Potratz, and Rossi & Zorzanello CEO Marta Rossi, the company responsible for leading the project.

During the activity, students took part in a discussion about hospitality, environmental preservation, and the importance of the hydrangea as the symbolic flower of Gramado. In addition to the educational content, the moment also provided a practical and emotional experience: each child planted a hydrangea in the schoolyard, leaving a symbolic gesture of care for the city’s future.

Beyond its landscaping value, the hydrangea represents hospitality, memory, and cultural identity. The project seeks to strengthen these values among new generations, connecting students with Gramado’s development journey, now nationally recognized as one of Brazil’s leading tourist destinations.

“We believe that preserving the essence of Gramado also involves education and engaging children and young people with the city’s history and symbols,” highlights Beatriz Gehlen. The next educational institution to receive the Hortênsia Project activities will be Ninho School, continuing the schedule of visits and educational activities planned for this year.
